MF DOOM's Madvillainy album, a collaboration with producer Madlib under the duo name Madvillain, is a masterpiece of underground hip-hop, renowned for its complex lyrics, eclectic beats, and innovative sound. To celebrate its influence, I created a poster that visually captures the album's raw, experimental essence, blending iconic tracklist with bold typography to reflect its gritty, yet artful nature. I design artwork inspired by iconic lucha libre legends Mil Máscaras, Blue Demon, and El Santo, capturing the vibrant energy and rich cultural heritage of Mexican wrestling. These designs pay tribute to the larger-than-life personas of these wrestlers, blending bold colors and dynamic compositions that reflect their storied legacies. In addition to this, I created an 8-bit version of the Virgin Mary, merging traditional religious iconography with retro digital aesthetics. This piece reimagines a revered symbol through the lens of pixel art, offering a fresh, contemporary take on such religious figure.
